HEALTHSCAN™ is the most advanced, medically based, health risk assessment instrument
available to the health and fitness industries today.
The HEALTHSCAN™ system provides a simple and easy to comprehend appraisal
format that measures an individual's at-risk level for major disease including coronary
heart disease, stroke, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, etc. The HEALTHSCAN™ system
medical protocols are based on the results of the Harvard Medical School Framingham
Study.
By combining blood chemistry with traditional measures of health history, metabolic
fitness analysis, and body fat composition, a comprehensive, single score, health
risk analysis is generated.
The HEALTHSCAN™ system can help:
Fitness facilities achieve higher levels of membership and retention, and increase
communication with their members.
Fitness facilities monitor the progress of their clients with immediate, accurate,
medically based data.
Fitness facilities provide a comparative analysis of their members' progress.
Corporations net a positive return on healthcare and increased physical activity.
The HEALTHSCAN™ system can help corporations and fitness facilities educate individuals
so they have a better understanding of the benefits of physical activity and a healthier
lifestyle.
HEALTHSCAN™ was developed by an advisory board of eleven physicians and fitness
professionals who identified the benefits of pharmaceutical and nutriceutical therapy
for chronic disease management. The goal was to create a single health risk scoring
tool that would demonstrate to the users that effective therapy, weight management,
and exercise could significantly reduce their risk for chronic and complicated disease.
After five years of research and two years of field trails the Healthscan product
was modified to demonstrate a statistical score and graphic illustration relative
to the impact of that score against a health risk table. Additionally, the advisors
believed that insufficient data was available regarding the efficacy of various
therapy used by individuals and created a tool that allowed for the measurement
of therapy to ensure that user received the most satisfactory treatment for their
specific health risk(s).
The last major improvement to Healthscan was completed during fiscal year 2006,
now allowing access to Healthscan tests and data via the Web. Prior to 2006 Healthscan
was delivered via a client server system. This new WEB secure HIPPA site will allow
all individuals to update their prescription therapy as required, it allows Healthscan
test scores to be updated after a current blood test and therein demonstrate progress
made based on goals established and implemented.
